Job Description

About Fluxicart

Fluxicart is a white-label multi-tenant marketplace platform that empowers merchants to create their own fully customized online stores (themes, domains, branding) while operating under a centralized platform that manages payments, deliveries, commissions, and administrative dashboards.

We are building the "Shopify + iFood + Production System" for the European market, starting with Portugal and expanding to Ireland, the UK, and beyond.

Our stack is modern and ambitious:

  • Current: Next.js 15 (App Router) + React 19 + TypeScript + Prisma + SQLite/PostgreSQL
  • Future: Migrating to microservices with Rust (Axum) + gRPC + NATS + Redis
  • Mobile: React Native + Expo for the Fluxiway rider delivery app

We are backed by a clear product vision, an active user base, and a roadmap that includes international expansion, WebSocket real-time features, and high-performance Rust microservices.

The Role

We are looking for a Mobile Developer with deep expertise in React Native to build and maintain the Fluxiway rider delivery app.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain the Fluxiway rider app (React Native + Expo)
  • Implement real-time order tracking with WebSockets and geolocation
  • Build offline-first features for riders in areas with poor connectivity
  • Integrate with REST APIs and WebSockets for real-time updates
  • Implement push notifications for order assignments and status changes
  • Build file upload features for rider documents (RG, CNH, CRLV, vehicle photos)
  • Implement geolocation features — matching riders to orders based on distance (Haversine formula)
  • Create smooth animations and intuitive UX for the rider onboarding flow (7 steps)
  • Collaborate with the backend team (Rust) to design APIs for the mobile app
  • Ensure offline capability with local storage (AsyncStorage, SQLite)
  • Optimize app performance — smooth scrolling, fast renders, minimal battery drain

You'll have a direct impact on the product and the company's growth — we're a flat team where engineers ship fast, learn continuously, and shape the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Development (70%)

  • Build and maintain the Fluxiway rider app with React Native + Expo
  • Implement 7-step onboarding flow: Phone Verification → Personal Info → Address → Password → Vehicle Selection → Document Upload → Complete
  • Implement real-time order feed — riders see nearby orders and can accept/reject
  • Build GPS tracking — riders share their location in real-time
  • Implement order lifecycle — view order details, navigate to pickup, confirm delivery
  • Build profile management — edit personal info, vehicle details, documents
  • Implement push notifications — new order alerts, status updates, system announcements
  • Build offline-first capability — store data locally when offline, sync when back online
  • Create beautiful, performant UI with animations and gestures

Integration & APIs (20%)

  • Integrate with REST APIs (Auth, Orders, Riders, Logistics)
  • Implement WebSocket connections for real-time updates (order assignments, status changes)
  • Work with geolocation APIs (Google Maps, Mapbox, or Apple Maps)
  • Implement file uploads for rider documents (expo-document-picker, expo-image-picker)
  • Integrate push notifications (Expo Notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging)
  • Handle offline synchronization with AsyncStorage or SQLite

Architecture & Strategy (10%)

  • Design state management for complex rider workflows (Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or Jotai)
  • Implement navigation architecture (React Navigation)
  • Design offline-first strategy with conflict resolution
  • Optimize battery usage — efficient GPS tracking, background location updates
  • Implement error tracking and crash reporting (Sentry)
  • Set up CI/CD for mobile apps (Expo EAS Build, App Store Connect, Google Play Console)
