Job Description
About QuickMoca
QuickMoca is an AI‑powered career platform that helps professionals build personalized resumes and connects companies to qualified candidates through intelligent matching. We’re eliminating the “black hole” of job applications – making every interaction clear, rewarding, and human‑centred.
We are a remote‑first team that values meticulous design, clear communication, and cross‑functional collaboration. We’re looking for a designer who understands the importance of breaking complex problems into achievable steps – and who has a track record of building scalable design systems.
The Role
Location: Remote – Canada (Quebec / Eastern Time preferred)
Type: Full‑time
Reports to: Head of Product
Team: Product, Engineering, AI, Marketing
We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with strong experience in design systems (UI kits, tokens, components), collaboration platforms, and communication‑driven design. You will own the visual language and interaction patterns across QuickMoca’s candidate portal, company dashboard, and public job board – ensuring consistency, scalability, and a polished user experience.
You will also work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders in agile sprints – using Design Thinking to define personas, map user journeys, and deliver high‑quality interfaces. Your background in advertising and visual communication will help us ensure that every screen communicates clearly and feels intuitive.
What You’ll Do
Design Systems & UI Kits
Lead the evolution of QuickMoca’s design system (Figma variables, tokens, master components, documentation).
Create and maintain a scalable UI kit for web and mobile, ensuring consistency across all product surfaces.
Collaborate with front‑end engineers to implement components efficiently (handoff, design reviews).
Product Design (B2B SaaS)
Design intuitive interfaces for recruiter workflows: job posting, candidate matching, analytics dashboards.
Use Design Thinking to identify user personas (candidates, recruiters, admins), define strategy, and create wireframes/prototypes.
Participate in agile sprints, supporting the development team with design solutions and problem‑solving.
Cross‑functional Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with product managers, developers, and QA to ensure designs are feasible and implemented correctly.
Create pitch decks, presentations, and investor materials (as you’ve done for Acropia) to support product launches and fundraising.
Facilitate design critiques and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
UX Research & Validation
Plan and conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability tests) to validate design decisions.
Iterate based on feedback and data, always focusing on user comfort and clarity.
Visual & Brand Consistency
Apply your strong graphic design background to maintain brand alignment across UI, illustrations, infographics, and marketing assets.
Ensure high‑quality deliverables within tight deadlines – balancing speed and polish.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
10+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including work on collaboration platforms, B2B SaaS, or complex web applications.
Proven track record of building and maintaining design systems (UI kits, tokens, master components) in Figma or Adobe XD.
Experience working in agile environments, participating in sprints, and supporting development teams.
A portfolio that shows end‑to‑end projects: personas → wireframes → prototypes → high‑fidelity UI → design system.
Skills & Competencies
Expert in Figma (components, auto layout, variables) and Adobe XD.
Strong understanding of Design Thinking and user‑centred design methods.
Excellent visual communication skills: typography, colour, layout, infographics, and presentation design.
Ability to create pitch decks and investor materials (PowerPoint, Keynote, Figma).
Basic familiarity with video game UI (nice to have – we appreciate your background with Nintendo GBA/Wii).
Mindset
You are meticulous, organised, and consistent – you break complex tasks into achievable steps.
You believe clear communication is key to great design (your advertising background is a plus).
You enjoy collaborating with programmers, product managers, and stakeholders across time zones.
You are comfortable leading design initiatives and mentoring others.
Nice to Have
Experience with video game UI or art direction – we may explore gamification elements.
Bilingual (French/English) – you speak both, which is perfect for our Quebec and global teams.
Knowledge of HTML/CSS to communicate better with developers.
