Job Description

About QuickMoca

QuickMoca is an AI‑powered career platform that helps professionals build personalized resumes and connects companies to qualified candidates through intelligent matching. We’re on a mission to eliminate the “black hole” of job applications – making every interaction clear, rewarding, and human‑centred.

We are a remote‑first team that values data‑informed design, community engagement, and continuous learning. We’re looking for a designer who can blend user research, interface design, and business impact – someone who thinks like a product expert.

The Role

Location: Remote (Canada – Ontario / Toronto area preferred)
Type: Full‑time
Reports to: Head of Product
Team: Product, Engineering, AI, Marketing

We are looking for a Product Designer with a strong foundation in software engineeringdesign systems, and data‑driven usability analysis. You will own end‑to‑end product experiences for our candidate and recruiter platforms – from wireframes to high‑fidelity mockups – and collaborate closely with marketing to optimize conversion flows.

Your background in Google Play community support will also help you advocate for user needs and identify recurring pain points that drive product improvements.

What You’ll Do

End‑to‑End Product Design

  • Lead design for web and mobile platforms: user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI.

  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate business requirements into user‑centred solutions.

  • Maintain and evolve QuickMoca’s design system (components, patterns, documentation) for consistency across all surfaces.

Data‑Driven & Usability Analysis

  • Implement and use tools like Microsoft Clarity (or similar) to analyse user behaviour, session recordings, and heatmaps.

  • Identify usability issues and propose targeted improvements based on real data.

  • Plan and conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability tests) to validate design decisions.

Strategic Impact & Collaboration

  • Partner with the marketing team to optimise email marketing flows and landing pages – aiming for measurable conversion lifts (like the 100% revenue increase you achieved).

  • Align design and research with broader business goals, using metrics to communicate value.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, working in iterative sprints.

Community & User Insights

  • Leverage your experience as a Google Product Expert to understand how users ask questions, express frustration, and find solutions.

  • Identify recurring pain points from user feedback and turn them into design opportunities.

Mentorship & Growth

  • Help junior designers grow through pair design, feedback sessions, and knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 3+ years of product/UX/UI design experience, preferably with some software engineering background or strong front‑end literacy.

  • Proven experience with design systems (creating and maintaining components for web/mobile).

  • A portfolio showing end‑to‑end projects: research → wireframes → high‑fidelity UI → measurable outcomes.

  • Experience with data‑driven design (e.g., Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, Google Analytics, or similar).

  • Familiarity with email marketing optimization and landing page design.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert in Figma (components, auto layout, prototyping). Framer experience is a plus.

  • Basic front‑end knowledge (HTML, CSS) to communicate effectively with developers.

  • Strong user research and usability testing skills (moderated/unmoderated).

  • Ability to synthesise data and user feedback into actionable design improvements.

  • Good understanding of agile methodologies and teamwork.

  • Fluency in English (professional working). Basic French is a plus but not required.

Mindset

  • You are a product thinker: you care about business outcomes, not just pixels.

  • You love troubleshooting and helping users – your community forum background is a strength.

  • You take ownership and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

  • You are comfortable balancing multiple projects and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Google Play Console or app store optimisation (ASO).

  • Certifications in UX, Design Thinking, or Accessibility (we see you have them – great!).

  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts (familiarity with career tech is a plus).

Why Join QuickMoca

  • High impact: Your work will directly affect how thousands of job seekers and recruiters interact with our platform.

  • Data‑driven culture: We invest in analytics tools and usability research – you’ll have the resources to validate your designs.

  • Remote‑first, Canada‑based: Work from anywhere in Canada, with a preference for Eastern Time.

  • Flat structure: Work directly with the founder and product lead – fast decisions, no politics.

  • Growth opportunity: Contribute to our design system, mentor others, and grow into a senior role as we scale.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: 85,000–85,000–105,000 CAD / year (depending on experience).

  • Contract type: Full‑time employee.

  • Working hours: Flexible, with core overlap in Eastern Time.

  • Paid time off: 20 days vacation + local public holidays.

  • Equipment: Budget for a laptop/accessories.

  • Learning budget: Courses, conferences, UX tools.
