Senior UX Designer (Design Systems & B2B Product)
Skills Required
Job Description
About QuickMoca
QuickMoca is an AI‑powered career platform that helps professionals build personalized resumes and connects companies to qualified candidates through intelligent matching. We’re on a mission to eliminate the “black hole” of job applications – making every interaction clear, rewarding, and human‑centred.
We are a remote‑first team with a strong product culture. As we scale our B2B platform for recruiters and enterprises, we need a designer who can build and maintain scalable design systems, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and mentor other designers.
The Role
Location: Remote (Canada – Ottawa / Eastern Time preferred)
Type: Full‑time
Reports to: Head of Product
Team: Product, Engineering, AI
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer with deep experience in design systems and B2B software (including native desktop applications). You will own the visual and interaction consistency across QuickMoca’s candidate portal, company portal, and public job board.
You will also play a key role in mentoring junior designers, facilitating critique sessions, and driving UX research initiatives – just as you’ve done at Nokia.
What You’ll Do
Design Systems & Scalability
Lead the evolution of QuickMoca’s design system (UI components, typography, colour, spacing, accessibility).
Consolidate existing components, document usage guidelines, and align with brand standards.
Work closely with front‑end engineers to ensure faithful implementation and rapid iteration.
B2B Product Experience
Design intuitive workflows for recruiters: job posting, candidate matching, analytics dashboards.
Simplify complex B2B features (team permissions, multi‑tenant settings, reporting) without sacrificing usability.
Apply your experience with native desktop applications to our web‑based platform (we may expand to desktop tools).
User Research & Validation
Plan and conduct user interviews, usability tests, and field research (including conference‑based research similar to Nokia’s SReXperts).
Synthesize findings into actionable design improvements.
Advocate for research‑informed decisions across the product team.
Cross‑functional Leadership
Act as the UX prime on multi‑disciplinary teams (product managers, developers, QA, technical writers).
Facilitate design critique sessions and UX UI sharing to foster collaboration and raise quality.
Mentor junior designers and co‑op students – helping them grow and onboard smoothly.
Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Management
Work within an agile environment, delivering high‑quality UX solutions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
Present design concepts to stakeholders and iterate based on feedback.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
7+ years of UX/product design experience, with a strong focus on design systems and B2B software.
Proven track record of leading visual refreshes and consolidating component libraries (80+ components across multiple teams).
Experience working on native desktop applications is a strong plus.
Portfolio showing scalable design systems, B2B dashboards, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Skills & Competencies
Expert in Figma (or equivalent) – components, variants, auto layout, documentation.
Strong understanding of UI visual design: typography, colour, spacing, alignment with brand guidelines.
Experience with user research methods (interviews, usability testing, conference‑based research).
Ability to create high‑fidelity prototypes and handoff assets to developers.
Proficiency with Sketch, InVision, and Microsoft PowerPoint (for executive presentations) is a plus.
Mindset
You enjoy bridging the gap between design and development – you speak the language of engineers.
You are a natural mentor and collaborator – you initiate critique sessions and help others grow.
You are comfortable leading initiatives, organizing events (like UX summits), and driving cross‑team alignment.
Nice to Have
Experience with AI/ML products or career tech platforms.
Background in Interactive Arts & Technology (or similar).
Familiarity with HTML/CSS/React to communicate effectively with engineers.
Why Join QuickMoca
